Robertsbridge Community College

Uniform

Main Uniform

It is our expectation that the uniform is worn in a traditional manner, suitable for a learning environment.

Compulsory Items

  • Black tailored trousers (no tapered waists/legs)
  • Burgundy school polo shirt
  • Black or white ankle/knee-length socks/tights
  • Black, sensible, leather, formal shoes. No trainers or visible sportswear branding permitted.
  • A sensible coat for winter months

    Optional Items
  • Black pleated skirt with RCC emblem. Pupils are not permitted to roll their skirts.
  • School grey V-neck sweater. No jumpers, sweatshirts or hoodies are permitted other than this.
  • Black school shorts with RCC emblem can be worn in the summer terms.

No visible T shirts or vests under polo shirts
No hooded tops/fashion sweatshirts are permitted

 PE Kit

  • Black school polo shirt with logo
  • Black school PE sweatshirt with logo (advisable)
  • Black school training top with logo (optional)
  • Black football/hockey socks (optional)
  • White ankle socks (optional)
  • Black PE shorts or black tracksuit bottoms
  • Football boots/studded footwear
  • A plain black or grey waterproof sports jacket/black underlayer (optional)
  • Trainers - these should be suitable for physical activity with an arched sole to provide necessary support, e.g. running trainers. Please note that plimsolls or Converse/Vans type footwear is NOT acceptable.

Full PE kit is required for every lesson even if not physically participating for any reason. Students will be involved in the lesson in a non-active way, such as coaching or refereeing.

Please label all items clearly with your child's name.

Hair, Make-up, Jewellery

  • Hairstyles must be of a natural hair colour. Students cannot have artificial colours in their hair, such as blue, pink and green.
  • For students with short hair, this must be neat and tidy. There is no specific reference to the length of hair; we simply ask that the hairstyle be a sensible one.
  • If students have long hair, then this again must be tidy, however it must be able to be tied up when required (e.g. PE and Technology lessons).
  • No jewellery permitted, except for one pair of plain stud earrings and a watch.
  • No facial piercings, this includes during the healing period. We recommend if a pupil wants to get a facial piercing, they do so at the start of the summer break so that it can heal in time for the start of term to be removed during the school day.
  • No nail varnish, nail extensions or false nails.
  • Any make up must be subtle in nature.
