Robertsbridge Community College

Work Experience - for Employers

An Invitation to Local Employers

Year 10 students at Robertsbridge Community College participate in a Work Experience week during March each year. A barrier to participation is often transport so we are appealing for local opportunities for our students.  Local Work Experience would allow our students to use school transport into the village. The programme is run on our behalf by Mark Likeman at East Sussex County Council. Our students have placements for this year and we’re hoping that government guidance on Covid will allow that to go ahead but it would be good to line up a greater range of opportunities for 2023. Can you help?

Work Experience is beneficial to our students to make career decisions, develop employability skills and supports their transition in Further Education, Higher Education and Apprenticeships. There are a range of benefits to employers too!

Our students are as varied in their ambitions and interests as you can imagine; retail, office, practical construction, social care, agriculture, horticulture – you name it and we’ll probably have a student who would like to come and spend time with you.  Students make their choices in the Autumn of the before the March participation and apply through the ESCC website as they would any other employment opportunity.

Please contact Mark Likeman at East Sussex Country Council (Mark.Likeman@eastsussex.gov.uk) or Mrs Laura Linch at the college on 01580 880360 if you would like to know more.
